Spectacular Speeches!

WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

This week at school we are doing speeches. Our speech topic is the topic we have chosen for our PBL My speech is about racism. The main topic is what is racism and how we can stop it. Here is my intro:

Hating people because of their colour is wrong. It doesn’t matter what colour does the hating. Its just wrong” - Muhammad Ali.

Hello. Today I am going to be sharing my speech on racism and how we can stop it.  Racism happens in lots of places and it happens more than you would think. A lot of people think that racism is a dying thing but to many people it is something they experience everyday.  I think that it should be our mission to put a stop to racism.

Thanks for reading and I will update you with more about my speech later!

Discrimination Art!

As you may know for PBL this term we are focusing on discrimination!
One of the tasks we had to do is to make some art. This art had to have a picture of us and a quote that inspires us about some sort of discrimination. Here is a picture of my art!

I really like my art and hope you do to!
Thanks for reading my blog! Bye for now!

Book Review!

Welcome back to my blog!
Today I am going to be doing an awesome book review! Here it is!

Book: Queenie By Jacqueline Wilson

About: Queenie is about a girl called Elsie. Elsie and her grandmother have a dream of going to the queens coronation. Elsie lives with her grandmother when her grandmother catches an awful sickness. Her grandmother has to go to hospital so Elsie's mother comes and lives with her. Then Elsie is told she has a problem with her knee and has to go to hospital. What will happen to Elsie? What will happen to her grandmother? What will happen to there dream? - Find out by reading Queenie

Rating: I rate this book 4.5/5 Because it gets a little boring at times.

Recommendation: I recommend this book to anyone who likes books about animals and any Jacqueline Harvey books. I also recommend this to people from the age of 7-13.

Our PBL For This Term!

Welcome back to my blog!
This week the teachers in our hub have launched our PBL. The question for our PBL this term is;
How can we speak up against discrimination?
During the launch our teachers have taught us about different types of discrimination that people in our world experience on a daily basis. Some of these include, Sexism, Ageism and Racism. The teachers made small scenarios that would make us learn about this. One scenario that they did was making all the boys sit  on chairs and all the girls sit on the floor. When they did this I felt annoyed because they got to sit on a chair which in our hub is normally a privilege.

When the teachers introduced this terms project they also told us about how we would present it. We are going to live stream on multiple platforms and share our projects. Some of the project ideas were things like a speech, ted talk and  a podcast. They also introduced some sub questions. Some of these are:

What are human rights?
What are  the different types of discrimination?

Comment Question: Have you ever felt discriminated against? If so tell your story.
Thanks for reading! See ya next time!
